In Memoriam is the latest sound specific installation designed and created by Panú. An aeolian sound experience for the Windmills of Chora in Amorgos island. It is a requiem for a disappearing era, a farewell song to the majestic white giants along the mountain ridge of Chora. Panú designs and creates 90 ceramic objects, parts of one instrument, tuned in pentatonic scales. The musical objects are placed among the windmills where the wind organises the musical composition. Sometimes it is strong and ecstatic, other times subtle and quite like a lament song. Sound changes constantly transforming the space and time.

The visitor surrenders to the magic of the soundscape, observes, listens closely, daydreams…but is also free to play, experiment, interact with the installation and the musical instruments. Facing in different directions, changing levels in space, holding the objects against the wind, experimenting with different angles to meet the air, the visitor becomes part of the composition and creates endless new versions of the aeolian song captured in these unique ceramic objects.
